Today I did a shoot at home with Yannick and this time as my Korean Language exchange friend Christina always said taking photos of me on our trip to Melbourne many years ago suck it in so my stomach wouldn’t show.
In the video I am holding a blue neon with the lower-case text: possible and first wearing a black Kmart t-shirt and through all blue Levis, a Fit bit watch and white chuck converse sneakers.
I also wore two white 3xl Kmart t-shirt’s one with a black Sharpie pen drawing of what Saint Francis would look like today holding a kindness neon sign and also a drawing of Australia’s saint Mary MacKillop holing a kindness neon as what she would look like today and both wearing converse sneakers in the drawings.
Now here are some quotes revolving around the text in the artwork:
“Our thoughts and imagination are the only real limits to our possibilities.”
Orison Swett Marden
I love this quote about the power of our thoughts and imagination and their link to the limits of possibility.
This is a Saint Francis quote about kindness linked to the T-shirt drawing I did of him:
“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows.”
I have used this Saint Francis quote many times and when I draw him every day, I feel his sunbeam driving away my darkness.
I love the following quote by Mary MacKillop that is linked to my MacKillop compassion T-shirt drawing:
“Be a gift of love and compassion for one another.”
I love the idea that perhaps the best gift for each other in this world is love and compassion.
In conclusion I love trying to make the teachings of my favourite saints light hearted and playful and try to bring their wisdom to life in my art.
