Today Yannick and I did a photo and video shoot in my apartment of me holding a white ARTIST neon and wearing blue Levis, white converse and a TEMU straw hat and black jacket from South Korea that is more than twenty years old.
I wore the jacket as I am heading to South Korea in less than two months for an art exhibition with Korean artist Hansol Lim. The jacket reminds me of what I like about Korea.
The neon was used in a residency at the Big Ci several months ago as part of a large drawing of white oil stick text, white neons and all on a big sheet of white paper painted black with acrylic paint.
I like the idea of the role of the artist as exploring ideas revolving around social responsibility and a search for the numinous or spirituality.

I love this quote by the Dalai Lama and I agree that training one’s mind to be positive and creative is important for a happy life and is an art form.

In conclusion I feel my art is a pursuit of the numinous or spirituality and I have a way to go. Also the different artists I like are like this too.
