I Think I Know You: A Book of Drawings for Henry Rollins by Luke Foster

“It’s sad when someone you know becomes someone you knew.”

Henry Rollins

From my early adult years Henry Rollins has been one of my favorite creatives, and I saw a spoken word show he did in Sydney in 1991 when I was 19 and I don’t know how old he was, but he was the most gifted orator I have seen.

What I love about Rollins is that he is straight edge which means he doesn’t do drugs or smoke or drink alcohol.

These images and videos are from an artist book I made for Rollins about him and my other mentors, mainly Saint Francis and Saint Mary MacKillop.

These are some of my favorite quotes by these saints.

“Whatever troubles may be before you, accept them bravely…”

Mary MacKillop

I love this quote by Mary MacKillop, my favorite female saint and it reminds me of Rollins as he faces his troubles bravely.

“For it is in giving that we receive. “

Francis of Assisi

I love this saint Francis quote, and I feel that Rollins is incredibly generous.

“My optimism wears heavy boots and is loud.”

Henry Rollins

I agree with Rollins that his optimism is loud and bold, and I feel optimism is an important attribute.

In conclusion I shall send the Rollins art book soon hopefully next week and I already have a package to send it in and have filled out the customs declaration form.
