A Sketchbook
This is one of my most recent sketchbooks, and I was happy to collage a lot with the colour paper my great grandmother friend Gwenda Shinner gave me.
There are maybe too many self-portraits and but I am happy with the portraits and quotes by the Dalai Lama, Saint Francis, and Mary MacKillop, and many other random drawings often with text.
The title is a quote by Saint Francis and for me the Dalai Lama from a distance and Gwenda Shinner in person drove away my many shadows with a single sunbeam.
I like the following quote by the Dalai Lama on kindness:
“One of the basic points is kindness. With kindness, with love and compassion, with this feeling that is the essence of brotherhood, sisterhood, one will have inner peace. This compassionate feeling is the basis of inner peace.”

In conclusion, I feel if I try to become wiser by getting advice and wisdom from Gwenda in person and the Dalai Lama from a distance then I perhaps might develop inner peace and deeper happiness.
