During the last residency I did at the Big Ci in the Blue Mountains I caught covid and had to isolate after coming back from New York in January of 2022.
While there I made an installation with a hodge podge of ideas and a big drawing on paper with black house paint rolled on and then drawn on with white crayons.
I also did a lot of smaller drawings.
The big drawing had five basic portraits of people wearing face masks and Jacobean ruffs in the era of covid where international travel has become risky. The Jacobean ruffs have become contemporary as everyone who flies internationally colonises the world in a way like explorers of the Jacobean era.
