A video and photo shoot by Yannick Soyez
“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.”
– William Arthur Ward

I am not smiling today but once Yannick arrives and gives me a hug and makes me a cup of coffee with my coffee machine then I should cheer up. I feel a bit off as I have been swimming a lot at the pool and yesterday it was 40 laps of a 50m pool and over 2 hours in the pool. Also, I poured my heart out this morning when I was very sleepy and did 20 bold black ink drawings on cut up grocery bags. Then I did around 6 pages of journaling.

The shoot shall include four video shots and some photos.
There is a shot where I will be me lying on the wooden floor of my apartment with this morning’s drawings scattered around me.
There shall be another shot of me holding first a blue kindness neon.
Then a shot of me holding a plaster collage inspired by the spiritual 2d art of Anish Kapoor.

There shall be a shot of me drawing in a brown sketch book looking over my shoulder.
The basic premise of the whole shoot is that kindness can transform my life from sadness and disappointment to joy, kindness and happiness.
“Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows.”
– Robert Green Ingersoll
In conclusion kindness unleashes a window in your soul to see beauty and joy everywhere where once one saw darkness and hurt. That’s just in my books but you can take or leave that statement.

When it comes to kindness the grandmother Wenda I see every morning at the pool is my definition of kindness as she always encourages me to keep going with increasing my laps while she literally laps me in the pool. I think grandmothers platonic love and advice is best.
