Mother Nature

“At the end of the day, you can’t compete with Mother Nature. If you’ve got a great tomato, just a pinch of sea salt is all you need.”

Zac Posen

I agree you can’t compete with nature but you can live in awe of it and enjoy its complexity and beauty.

“People must feel that the natural world is important and valuable and beautiful and wonderful and an amazement and a pleasure.”

David Attenborough

David Attenborough, so wise and kind.

I agree with David and I feel reverence for nature is an incredibly beautiful thing.

It’s the ocean I have the most reverence for and I used to beach walk two hours a morning on my local beach and now at the end of the day I go sit on the beach for a few minutes and marvel at the beauty of the ocean and crashing waves.

“To escape and sit quietly on the beach – that’s my idea of paradise.”

Emilia Wickstead

I love this quote about escaping to sit quietly on the beach and that’s what I’ve started to do daily for the last few days and it seems to calm my mind.

“I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”

Issac Newton

Issac Newton

This quote reminds me of my friend Adam who I met when I used to beach walk two hours a day every morning about a year ago. He is around my age. He was always collecting beautiful shells and pebbles on the beach and is a parent but also innocent like a child.

“Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

Saint Augustine

I love this quote by Saint Augustine and I also travelled abroad many times but I usually went to big cities such as New York but it was when I got out into nature while travelling that I had the most interesting experience.

Saint Augustine, a strong saint.

Me and my friend Tristan used to drive up to mountains in Queensland and go bush walking and sometimes camp out. Australian nature is incredibly beautiful. At places such as Mount Tambourine.

Mount Tambourine, I love Australian nature.

In conclusion I find that I am always in awe of nature and I feel balanced in my mind when I get out in nature even if it’s only a few minutes, sitting on the beach.

Me in a, beach performance with a sculpture to sit on a, IKEA trestle table in my next solo show made in 2025. The sculpture is called High IQ as I made it for one of my smart TVs to sit on.
