“Let us strive for the impossible. The great achievements throughout history have been the conquest of what seemed the impossible.” Charlie Chaplin
Chaplin was a fantastic slapstick actor and his legacy has influenced how film is still made today.
Obama has been one of my favourite US presidents and he achieved a lot not just for America but for the whole world particularly around race relations.
The Chaplin beach performance came out of a deep interest in Chaplin as a satirist of social issues in the world. For example his movie the Little Dictator satirised Hitler and turned public interest in America against the Nazis in Europe. However I am a pacifist and don’t believe in war. Chaplin is still relevant today as the problems he satirised repeat themselves through history and Obama faced many of these issues when he was president.
