Humor is by far the most significant activity of the human brain. “
Edward de Bono
I try to add humor to my art, particularly my drawings, but I don’t know if it always translates.
In this 22-minute video I have stitched together mainly my performance art pieces over the past few years, but there is also documentation of my sculptures, installation art, and drawings in sketchbooks too.
Because it’s such a long video, I don’t think the audience shall watch the whole video but perhaps just several minute snippets so like life every viewer will take away a different perception or experience. This is like the nature of life experience by humans as even though there is only one planet, there are not even two people’s experiences and perceptions that are the same.
“One cannot love without suffering or suffer without loving.”
St. Gianna Beretta Molla
I usually have a quote by my favorite female saint Mary MacKillop in my text who was from Australia, but I searched and found a wonderful quote by a different pious female saint: St. Gianna Beretta Molla. I agree that there can be no love and compassion without suffering as one’s own suffering opens one’scompassion for others suffering.
In conclusion, I think it’s wonderful that all people have a different perception because then we can all love each other in different and original ways.
