” Love one another, bear with one another, and let charity guide you in all your life. “
Mary MacKillop
I love this MacKillop quote, and it is a wise explanation of her incredible compassion.
This photo and video shoot by Yannick Soyez was me holding my most recent sketchbook with my ten drawings a day project. The video shows me holding my sketchbook open at a page with Mary MacKillop holding a community neon drawn with black ink and brush. So, in other words, what Mary MacKillop would look like if she was alive today. I chose this image for the video as it’s much bolder to see from a distance unlike many other drawings in the sketchbook made with lead pencil, Artline pen, and watercolor.
I shall leave the other photos of me holding the sketchbook open to other pages open to interpretation.
In the sketchbook there are also many drawings of my favorite male Saint Francis of Assisi.
“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows.”
Francis of Assisi
I love this quote about how a single sunbeam is enough to drives away many shadows and with spring around the corner in Australia I am looking forward to nice sunny weather. When I draw him each day or use his quotes in my text, it metaphorically drives my shadows away.
In conclusion I think I shall continue the ten drawings a day project for the rest of my life and have already bought a few sketchbooks for my coming trip to Korea for an exhibition there with Korean artist Hansol Lim at the Green Gallery in Daejeon.
