Am I a Fruit Cake Sending Off Books of Drawings to World Leaders, Artists, Actors, Musicians and Government Bodies? / Colloquial Name Don’t You Forget About Me Simple Minds

Essay by Luke Foster

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh, woah

Won’t you come see about me?
I’ll be alone, dancing, you know it, baby

Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving everything inside and out and
Love’s strange, so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on

Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby

Don’t you, forget about me
Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t
Don’t you, forget about me

Simple Minds Don’t you Forget About Me

Starting about four years ago I started sending off boxes of art, clothes, records and shoes all brand new to the world’s leaders, artists, charities and AID bodies, museums, actors, CEOs and politicians and powerful bodies such as Rand Corporation, the CIA and the World Health Organization.

Quite a few sent them back and I think my brother and sister-in-law thought I had lost my mind when this happened and probably worried about me deeply and maybe wanted to have me committed to a mental hospital.

I sent the most to Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama and sent them three or four big boxes each the most for the Dalai Lama including a brand new IPAD still in the box.

The only hard thing is that they didn’t write back to me except a few from MOMA the art museum in New York and the AGNSW and Mission Australia and the Pope after I asked him forgiveness for my mistakes which is called penance.

However maybe the worlds intelligentsia asked them to not send me a thankyou card so I wouldn’t rest on my laurels. I don’t want praise I just wanted to know if they liked the installations in particular and that they weren’t tossed in the bin.

I think the idea behind this was using creativity and kindness to address the world’s major problems.

Also giving not only makes the recipient happy and giver happy but also develops a strong bond of trust which is the foundation of all peace and good will building.

“Humour is by far the most significant activity of the human brain.”

 Edward de Bono

And to have a balanced male and female perspective is a wise quote by Malala Yousafzai

“When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.”

Malala Yousafzai

In conclusion giving is the best way to build trust, platonic love, peace and happiness in the world both literally and metaphorically. For example, giving a nice compliment to someone can make their day.
