I Hope People buy my book Mothers Love/ Some of it was a bit Fruity and Some of the People I Talked up Were Poor Role Models But, Most, of it Was Ok (My Mum Taught Me Never to Trust Anyone When it, Came to Money)

Essay by Luke Foster

“I try to treat whoever I meet as an old friend. This gives me a genuine feeling of happiness. It is the practice of compassion.”

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

I love this Dalai Lama quote.

My book Mothers Love took me a few years to write and cost over $4000 to get published and I didn’t make one cent from the royalties after nine months so I was so sad I almost cried as if my mum was alive, she would have berated me for wasting money.

I hope lots of people buy it so I have a financial buffer and can literally buy a few orphanages in Africa and on the sub-continent.

“True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.”

 Martin Luther King Jr.

I love Martin Luther King but feel so sad that he got assassinated for what he believed in but if he hadn’t stood up then Barack Obama never would have become president.

“The courage of life,” John F. Kennedy wrote in book Profiles in Courage, “is often less a dramatic spectacle than the courage of a final moment; but it is no less a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy.”

Barack Obama

I have been working pro bono for years sending off over 100 installations I didn’t count so don’t know exactly but check my website and please someone buy just one of my installations for a museum as I feel you can have too much or too little money and I have almost enough but spending quite a bit with a few presents for myself and art materials, framing and neon signs for my next few shows.

As the Dalai Lama says money is important but it’s not everything. Now I have to talk up three strong and spiritual females for balance in the world.

Michelle Obama

I love this quote by Michelle about chasing your dreams particularly for women.

“My mother always told me, ‘Hide your face people are looking at you.’ I would reply, ‘It does not matter; I am also looking at them.”

I love Malala platonically and love how much she has done for getting education for girls particularly on the sub-continent.

My favourite female saint is the Australian Mary MacKillop and she was so kind and loving and wise.

‘Never see a need without trying to do something about it.’

– Mary MacKillop

I love these quotes and feel she was a very strong saint.

In conclusion if we don’t have a balance of male and female role models in the world then I feel the future of the planet isn’t assured and many people shall suffer.
