I think my Main Mistake in the Past Three Years is that I have not had a Balance of Strong Female Role Models. I Have Been Relying too much on the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis of Late/ Why is it so?

Essay by Luke Foster

“Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”

Malala Yousafzai

Mala is a 21 year-old, Pakistani activist and youngest Nobel prize laureate. Mala is an excellent voice of repressed minorities in the subcontinent. She is an amazing example of postcolonialism.

Malala Yousafzai

Postcolonialism is when repressed minorities in the developing world are given a voice through a university education in their own country or through scholarships to first world universities.

“Malala’s activism started at age eleven when she blogged anonymously to expose life under the Taliban rule in Pakistan, where women were denied education.”

 The Gentlemanual

Another strong female role model Michelle Obama former first lady when Barack Obama was the first US African American president.

A famous Michelle Obama quote is:

“When someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level. No, our motto is: ‘When they go low, we go high’.”

In conclusion if there is more of a balance of female role models in the world then there shall be more balance in the world and more peace and prosperity for everyone.

Caritas and Oxfam are my favourite charities at the moment but there is, many others I like too such as Mission Australia and the Fred Hollows Foundation
