If We Can Figure Out How to Stop Other Animals, Plants, Fish and Insects From, Extinction Then We Might Be Also Able to Figure Out How to Save Humans from Extinction.

Essay by Luke Foster

“I can’t imagine anything more important than air, water, soil, energy and biodiversity. These are the things that keep us alive.”

David Suzuki

I agree with David Suzuki about the importance of keeping the worlds natural resources clean. I feel that the worlds biggest challenge is saving all the flora and fauna in the world and if we can’t

do that then we definitely won’t be able to figure out how to save the human race from extinction.

“Change is never easy, and it often creates discord, but when people come together for the good of humanity and the Earth, we can accomplish great things.”

David Suzuki

I came up with idea for an essay on this topic yesterday as I was getting a lift from the hospital for a check up with a community support worker named Graeme and he said he had watched a documentary on the Tasmanian Tiger on Australian ABC TV and how there had been recent sighting of it despite it being declared extinct over a hundred years ago. I also remember doing a school assignment about it and think its Latin name is the Thylacine.

I think the world is one big natural habitat and everything on it living and no living is interlinked and dependent on each other so if we don’t look after the natural environment then we are putting ourselves the human race at great peril.

“If my grandchildren were to look at me and say, ‘You were, aware species were disappearing and you did nothing, you said nothing’, that I think is culpable. I don’t know how much more they expect me to be doing, I’d better ask them.”

 David Attenborough

I think we need to act soon and with vigour as a global community to save our natural environment and ourselves in the process.

“Taking care of our planet is like taking care of our houses. Since we human beings come from nature, there is no point in our going against nature, which is why I say the environment is not a matter of religion or ethics or morality.”

Dalai Lama

I love this quote by the Dalai Lama and feel that it’s a very important urgent issue.

Not only is Bjork the Icelandic singer one of my favourite musicians she is also personal friends with David Attenborough and they work behind the scenes all the time helping to try and save the worlds environment.

Bjork is a fantastic inspiration for me with her amazing music, creative video clips and environmental activism.

“It’s incredible how nature sets females up to take care of people, and yet it is tricky for them to take care of themselves.

 Bjork

In conclusion I feel it’s definitely in our reach to turn around how we as humanity treat ourselves and the environment and save us from ourselves and save the environment in the process.
