Essay by Luke Foster
“Love thy neighbour as thyself,” Christ said. Neither more than nor less than, but as thyself. It seems that to love thy neighbour whole-heartedly, one must love thyself whole-heartedly. Without selflove, it is a tricky task to try and love others.”
From the Bible
I love the Dalai Lama like my own father but much better than the father I had. However, I feel that there is no such thing as an enemy and I only feel that people sometimes do bad things but it’s not their inherent inner quality.
“Forgiveness does not mean you forget what someone has done, contrary to the saying “Forgive and forget.” Not reacting with negativity, or giving in to the negative emotions, does not mean you do not respond to the acts or that you allow yourself to be harmed again.”
The Dalai Lama
I feel the best way to deal with a conflict is not with anger or malice but a firm hand so that person does wrong by you again.
“We should all consider each other as human beings, and we should respect each other.”
Malala Yousafzai
I love this quote by Malala and feel with more of a balance of women in the world then many of the worlds complex problems shall come undone naturally as the majority of the worlds, problems come from to, much male energy which at its worst is anger, hatred and malice.
“We learned about honesty and integrity – that the truth matters… that you don’t take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules… and success doesn’t count unless you earn it fair and square.”
Michelle Obama
I agree with Michelle that honesty and integrity and truth are important for love and peace to come about in the world.
“Our future cannot depend on the government alone. The ultimate solutions lie in the attitudes and the actions of the American people. No fundamental social change occurs merely because government acts. It’s because civil society, the conscience of a country, begins to rise up and demand – demand – demand change.”
Joe Biden
In conclusion I feel if we neither help or hurt people those we have a difference with and search for more of a balance of strong female role models then there, shall be peace and prosperity in the whole world not just for the rich elite who have the majority of the worlds, wealth.
