“Of all mens miseries the bitterest is this: to know so much and to have control over nothing.” Herodotus
Herodatus was a Greek writer who is known as the father of history.
I studied his book The Histories about the Roman emperors during three unit ancient history in high school. My teacher Sheryl Bremner taught me how to write essays and then I was more technical then but now I am more intuitive.
Historians are the most important writers as they make sure that the mistakes of humanity in the past are never repeated by recording them in graphic detail.
I am sort of a lapsed Catholic but I do read the teachings of the saints all the time with quotes for my writing usually from brainy quotes from the Internet.
“ They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Worthy are you. Our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. “
Revelations 4:10-11 the New Testament Bible
I think the book of revelations is interesting as it talks about angels from heaven coming back to earth to save the world from itself. They saved it with a blemishing or driving out the evil spirits.
However my favourite book in the New Testament is the book of John. I became interested in spirituality again and the teachings of christianity in India in 2001 shortly after September 11. I kept putting it off as I was to scared to fly and then eventually said what the heck and went anyway for three months and travelled to Chennai, Pondicherry and New Delhi. I did heaps of drawing and gave a talk at the art school in Chennai with the whole school there and the press going click click and then did an art workshop with street kids in the slums of Chennai. I promised them I would buy them an orphanage one day but have decided I need to put a roof over my head first rather than spending my savings now.
For around 12k you can buy an orphanage for around 12 children with angel carers in India.
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

However in India I also discovered about Jain religion dancing with Jains at a Jain wedding in Chennai, met a Hindu man and discussed Hindu philosophy and attended a Muslim church in New Delhi with an American young Islamic man on a spiritual quest.
SAS security for the worlds leaders is very important as the world leaders are kind of saints and the SAS are kind of angles protecting them.
“ Happiness is not ready made. It comes from your own actions. “ Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama is sort of both an angel from heaven and a living saint rolled together in a Tibetan Buddhist way.
Hillary Clinton would have been a fantastic president as a sort of great grandmother to the world.
“ Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world.” Hillary Clinton
I don’t watch the news much or read the paper much but I still am in touch with what’s going on by word of mouth.
I think Bill Clinton was one of the best president but some bad things happened with him and he temporarily lost the respect of the people but he did an awful lot of good. As I always say that I never criticise politicians as people run them down no matter how much good they do. But that’s ok too as whatever people think or feel is valid.
Freedom of press and expression is the pillar stone of democracy. There is an importance of not censoring art and writing and other culture in good democratic society. All opinions are valid.
Condoleezza Rice is also a strong woman in politics and is an excellent diplomat and never raises her voice and just talks her way through awkward situations with charm and intelligence and supreme self confidence.
I think the best kind of competition in the world is for not only the world leaders but for everyone to be the best great grandmothers.
Great grandmothers are as hard as nails and compassionate and loving to as they have to lead their family fearlessly and with great compassion.
When I was studying teaching at Sydney University I learnt that the best way to deal with difficult situations is with win win situations where there is not even a difference of opinions but all parties coming out of challenging situations with a positive feeling and no bad taste in their mouth.
