Essay by Luke Foster
“Find out who you are and be that person. That’s what your soul was put on this Earth to be. Find that truth, live that truth and everything else will come.”
Ellen DeGeneres
I was talking with my support worker yesterday and the topic came up about someone who has wished me ill will and I commented that the best thing to do in that situation is to mediate on them with compassion. If you don’t then you shall put yourself in a dangerous situation as if you act with anger, hatred or any form of animosity then a back and forth, never ending argument shall ensue. In family situations or between friends it can lead to the relationship breakdown and between countries at its worst lead to war, hatred, chaos and the death of innocent civilians in the ensuing war.

I love Ellen DeGeneres in a platonic way not for her dashing good looks and amazing humour but because she is so generous to Americans down on their luck literally buying them cars and other things a family would need.
My ideas about meditating with compassion upon people who wish you ill will are, borrowed directly from the Dalai Lamas talks and when I look at him I feel amazed as he is completely empty and only filled with, love, compassion, wisdom and kindness.
“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
In the Tibetans eyes the Dalai Lama is a living incarnation of Buddha and I agree with them one hundred percent as when I meditate on him either his photo on my wall, book the Essence of Happiness or quotes on the internet for my essays or YouTube videos then I feel much calmer and come out of intense trauma and deep emotional pain.
